I write about the things that stay with us: change, family, fear, second chances, and the strange ways technology is becoming part of everyday life.
Some of my stories are imagined. Some begin with a question I can’t leave alone. My books and workbooks come from the same place: I want to make something a reader can enjoy, think about, or actually use.

AI is part of our story now
AI is showing up in our work, our homes, and our conversations. I think we all need a chance to understand it, try it, and decide how we want to use it.
I write about AI in two ways. Sometimes it becomes a character or a question in a story: What happens when we trust a machine? Can it help us feel less alone? Other times, I make simple guides for people who want to learn what AI can do in everyday life.
I’m curious about the possibilities, and I think the human part of the story matters more than ever.

I’m Si Lackie, a writer and educator in Brandon, Manitoba. After years of helping students find their words, I’ve been making more room for my own.
Only the Story is where I bring my writing together: the books I’ve finished, the ideas I’m still working through, and the occasional thought that turns into something bigger.
