About Si

I’ve spent much of my life helping other people find the right words. I’m an educator, and for years I encouraged students to take an idea, follow it, and see where it led.

Eventually, I started giving myself the same advice.

I’m Si Lackie, a writer in Brandon, Manitoba. I write fiction, children’s stories, and practical books about the things people carry through life. My ideas don’t stay in one genre. One day I’m following a strange “what if” about technology; the next I’m thinking about change, family, or a conversation people find hard to start.

Only the Story is home for all of it. It’s where I share what I’m writing, what I’m learning, and the questions that keep turning into stories.
